What is Internal Medicine?

Internal medicine is the medical specialty that focuses on adult health. Internal medicine physicians are specially trained to treat a variety of ailments ranging from the common cold and seasonal allergies to more serious conditions involving the heart, lungs, liver, and other organs. Your internist can perform a yearly physical exam, give you advice on preventing disease and staying healthy, as well as managing chronic diseases. They also function as primary care physicians and will help coordinate care and refer to specialists when necessary.

What if I need to speak to my physician after office hours?

Our office is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday to assist with your medical needs.  While we understand that the practice of medicine does not stop when our office closes, should your matter be a true medical emergency we ask that you call 911 or head directly to the nearest Emergency Room.

From Friday 4:30pm until Monday 8 am, Dr. Zamora and Dr. Zevallos take their own calls during the weekends. We ask that medication refills are not done during the weekend if at all possible.

Medication Refills

In an effort to provide you with prompt, accurate, and extraordinary care we need your help.

We are overwhelmed with the number of refill requests we are getting from our patients and pharmacies.  You may have noted this with longer wait times to call our office.  This is taking away staff time from other duties that are crucial to patient care.

We would like to encourage you to bring your medications with you to every visit. If you are unable to bring your medications, please bring a list of your medications. This will ensure your records are kept up to date, reduce medication errors.  Please note any prescription refills that are requested outside of an office visit will only be filled with a 30 day supply, at the clinician’s discretion. We are respectfully asking that you make an appointment when refills are due.  Be aware that you should allow 24 hours for a called in prescription.  Prescriptions will not be refilled on weekends, holidays or after hours. Please note that Z & Z Medical Associates will not refill lost or stolen controlled substances.
